Zoetic: Our Cumulative Legacy - The WARM gallery show

Zoetic: Our Cumulative Legacy - January 2017

Zoetic: adjective zo-et-ic. Of or relating to life, Awake, Conscience, Viable, being animatedly existent

The Women's Art Resource of Minnesota (WARM) invites you to join us at the Robbin Gallery for our newest exhibit-Zoetic: Our Cumulative Legacy. The artists involved in this project were asked to respond to the last election. What has been brought to life over the course of this election? What has been awakened? How is it affecting art and the creative process? What is now in our consciousness? And what will we do about it? How will we be animatedly existent?

Zoetic-Our Cumulative Legacy runs from January 5th through the 28th at the Robbin Gallery Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 and Fridays and Saturdays from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Artist reception held on Thursday, January 12th 5:30 to 8:30.

In addition to the exhibit, on January 20th at 6:30 pm, a panel of community leaders will join us at the Robbin Gallery for a discussion titled “The Trump Trigger” about the political climate and how artists can come together to make a difference.  What positive impact can occur through art and open communication?

WARM’s mission is to empower and support all feminist artists by honoring the legacy of the past and by building a viable future. WARM, established in 1973 by a group of women artists who found themselves underrepresented in the art world - in gallery exhibitions, as professors in academia, in art history books. WARM holds as its primary mission to empower and support all feminist artists by honoring the legacy of the past and by building a viable future. Created as a cooperative, WARM members support one another in order to bring women to the forefront of their local community.

The WARM Mentor Program, founded in 1982, is a supportive resource that pairs emerging and professional women artists for two years. WARM also provides the WARM Mentor Intensive Program, a goal or project based program open to all artists seeking a one-on-one mentorship for a period lasting one to three months.
