WORKS IN BLACK showcases Meyer’s current sculptures created from wood and other found objects all painted black, to direct the
attention to highlights and shadows in the works. Meyer also has a painting of 3 shades of red, randomly placed in 3456 one-inch squares.  Meyer is
the Fine Arts Superintendent for the Minnesota State Fair.

Lipstick is the focus of Paulson’s work, a series which includes paintings in the colors of lipstick, whose subject is lipstick or may be made
with lipstick, literally. Included in the show is Paulson’s 6 foot tall sculpture of a tube of lipstick, made with vinyl and chrome painted denim. Paulson is
the Robbin Gallery Director and Assistant Superintendent for the MN State Fair Fine Arts Program.

Steineck Arts features the paintings of David Steineck, as well as collaborative pieces he
did with his son Justin who suffers from mental illness.  The work is vibrantly rich in color, with the imagery
at times wild and uncontrollable and yet always moving toward the soft and romantic.

Finding Nature and Balance
Oil Paintings by Bob Newman
Personal Statement

After spending over 50 yeas
as an industrial illustrator,
graphic designer and
business owner, I have
returned to one of my first
loves—oil painting. I try
whenever possible to tell a
story in my paintings and
often a title occurs to me
even before the actual is
painting is started. I find
that working in all
categories (landscapes, still
lifes, florals and portraits) is
the most interesting and
challenging for me.
